My Telpher Series of novels feature believable science fiction with realistic characters populating imagined worlds. My science fiction characters face ordinary human trials, cherish hopes and struggle with fears common to us all, fail, learn, and achieve victories. The plot themes of my novels include: Galactic adventure and exploration, space opera romance, social and political commentary, and future hopes for humanity. There are both heroes and villains. The heroes sometimes fail and the villains occasionally get something right, with tragic consequences.

My stories are based on authentic science theory and/or reasonable extrapolations of known science. When I use common science fiction tropes (for example, warp drives) I attempt to add to or modify them to include original content and/or firmer scientific backing. In my science fiction I utilize my academic background in physics and my personal involvement in the practical development of advanced power delivery systems and new energy technologies.

Some of the results of my research are in the public domain (see here and here).

Dreams for Our Grandchildren

“I am enough of the artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”
—Albert Einstein, Saturday Evening Post, 1919 CE

Dreams of Untapped Galactic Resources

“Is the world divided into mind and matter, and, if so, what is mind and what is matter? Is mind subject to matter, or is it possessed of independent powers?”
—Bertrand Russell, The History of Western Philosophy, 1945 CE

Dreams of Means to Travel to the Stars

“With telepathic teleportation, interstellar travel, commerce, and cultural exchange will be so cataclysmically altered as to make the galaxy become unrecognizable within a matter of decades.”

—Steven Eckroad, Copernicium-296, 2022 CE
